In the last few weeks, we have been informed of numerous instances of taxpayer funds being used for political purposes. In most cases, local school district resources are being used to support local bond measures.

OUTRIGHT ADVOCACY OF THIS NATURE IS ILLEGAL AND YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO DEMAND THAT SUCH ACTIVITY STOP!

It was a meeting unlike any other MID meeting I’ve witnessed in a very long time.

The meeting was taken up with mainly one issue and that was the Bio-mass plant. In most minds it was a foregone conclusion that the Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration or Neg/Dec would be approved. If it was approved the plant would move forward on the fast track and Mid was prepared to follow a positive vote with Power Purchasing Agreement.

Dr. Ensley has become Modesto's version of a Green Energy Carpetbagger.  His persistent attempts at turning a quick buck off of Modestian is becoming a threat to our health.. Modesto turned out in mass and hear legalese and a few outright lies from Mid Staff and experts Endsley brought in to convenience us to poison the air we breathe so he can make more money. This needs to be stopped and we need to keep an eye on the good doctor in the future. He's too politically well tied (Muratore) to ignore.

A blogger wrote on the Hive under the article written by Jardine, When Suspects Become Victims, that he crossed the sheriff and became #1 deputy on the sheriff's hit list. What kind of fear tactics are used by our sheriff toward deputies who disagree with him or his policies? It makes me wonder how could one man (the sheriff) instill that much fear in someone who has to work under his leadership? I hope Rocko calls in and explains why he believes that because Craig Prescott supported him and stood against the sheriff, he ultimately paid the price for doing so with his life.

As summer nears the end we find that kids are back in school, vacations are over and we all have more time for committee work in our neighborhood.

It was 90 years ago today that women finally won the right to vote!  And even though we've been voting all these years, we still have had only four women on the Supreme Court.  That's four out of one hundred and twelve supreme court justices!Let's always remember that our grandmothers and great-grandmothers could not exercise their opinions at the polls, and be sure to vote in every election

While giving advice (like anyone should listen to them) to the new Hughson City Council, the McClatchy Yellow Pages ,also known as the Bee, congratulated them on saying “The results reflect a clear mandate. The three people elected to replace them — George Carr, Jeremy Young and Jill Silva — also had lopsided wins, giving them credibility as they assume office.” While we agree with this statement it calls into question other recommendations made by the Bee. When the Ridenour led Council proposed to eliminate runoffs it backed their decision.
